Angela Yender Health

Questions

The things people ask before they write

Answered here in full, so that the first email can be about your week rather than about us. If something is missing, ask and we will add it to this page.

About the practice

Is Angela Yender Health a medical practice?

No. It is a health education practice. We teach habits around movement, walking, sleep, kitchen routines and breathing, and we explain the reasoning behind them. We are not a clinic, there is no clinical assessment, and nothing here is medical care or medical advice.

Do you diagnose or treat anything?

Never. We do not diagnose conditions, we do not treat illness, and we make no claim that any habit will improve, cure or prevent a medical condition. If you describe something that sounds like it needs a clinician, we will say so and stop there.

Who actually teaches the sessions?

Angela Mary, who runs the practice. There is no team of rotating instructors and no subcontracting, so the person who answers your email is the person in the room.

Can you work alongside my doctor or physiotherapist?

Yes, and we would rather do that than work around them. Tell us who is involved, keep them informed, and if they have given you instructions, those come first. We teach habits that fit beside clinical care; we do not replace it and we do not alter it.

Where are you, and how far do you travel?

The practice is at 3410 Williams Dr, Suite 420-210, Montrose, CO 81401. Workshops and one-to-one sessions run across Montrose County and the Western Slope, in halls, kitchens, workplaces and outdoors. Sessions elsewhere are usually remote, with written guides prepared for you.

Sessions and programmes

Do I need any fitness to start?

None. Every movement is taught with an easier version first, and the version you do is chosen by what your body manages that day, not by what the group is doing. Nobody is asked to keep up with anybody else.

How long is a session, and how many will I need?

A one-to-one session runs to about an hour; workshops run longer because there are more people to speak to. How many you need depends entirely on what you want to change. We agree a number in writing before starting, review it at the end, and you decide whether to continue.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes for movement sessions, something to write with, and water. Kitchen sessions happen in a real kitchen with the equipment you have at home. Nothing else is expected, and there is nothing to acquire beforehand.

Do you run workshops for groups, clubs and workplaces?

Yes. Groups of around six work best, in Montrose and the surrounding county, for community groups, clubs, small employers and teams. Send an email describing the group and the hours people work, and we will propose something that fits the rota rather than fighting it.

Can sessions be done remotely?

Yes, by phone or video, anywhere in the Mountain Time zone and beyond. Remote work suits the written and kitchen programmes well, and walking sessions particularly, because the route is planned for where you live rather than for where we are.

What if I miss a session, or fall off the habits for a month?

Tell us and we pick up from where you are. Missing a session does not undo anything, and a month of not doing the habits is normal rather than a failure. The teaching includes what to do after a break, because breaks are part of the plan.

This website

Does the contact form send my message to a server?

No. The form assembles an email inside your own mail program and nothing is uploaded to this website. You see the message before it goes. If you would rather not use it, write directly to [email protected].

Should I send medical details in an enquiry?

Please do not. We do not need records, results or diagnoses to teach habits, and email is not a secure channel for clinical information. A sentence about your week is enough to begin.

What does this site store on my device?

One record of your cookie choice, so the banner does not follow you around the site. Analytics and advertising stay off unless you switch them on, and the map on the contact page loads only when you press its button. The Cookie Policy lists every item in full.

Where do the photographs come from?

Every photograph on this site is a real photograph contributed to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons by a named author, used under the licence that author chose. The Photo Credits page lists each one with its source.

Urgent symptoms are not for this page. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness, a fall with injury or anything else that feels urgent, contact emergency services or your own clinician straight away. Health education is useful in ordinary weeks; it is not a route for urgent ones.

Something we have not covered?

Ask it directly. Questions about how a session runs, whether a programme suits your hours, or how we would work alongside the care you already have are all welcome, and they are answered by the person who would be teaching you.
